What the treatment involves

An implant replaces a missing tooth with a small titanium post in the jaw, a connector, and a crown on top. It is fixed, it does not rely on the teeth beside it, and with care it lasts decades.

Dr Femi Adeyemi plans and places every implant at Northlight. It starts with a consult and a 3D X-ray, which shows exactly how much bone there is and where the nerves run. You leave with a written plan and a single price for the whole thing — post, connector and crown. We never quote an implant in parts.

The implant itself goes in under local anaesthetic in about an hour. Most people are surprised by how little it hurts afterwards; a paracetamol that evening is usually all they need. Then the bone grows around it over three to four months. If the gap shows when you smile, we fit a temporary tooth in the meantime.

The final crown is scanned and made to match the teeth around it. A single implant with its crown starts at £2,400, and carries a ten-year guarantee.

If there is not enough bone, a graft adds time and cost. The 3D X-ray tells us before you commit, never after.

Included in the price

  • The implant, the connector and the ceramic crown
  • All review visits during healing
  • A ten-year guarantee on the implant
“The implant took four months start to finish and I took one paracetamol. The price did not move a pound from the written plan.”

From first visit to finished

  1. Plan

A 3D X-ray shows the bone, the nerves and the best position, measured to the millimetre.

  2. Place

The implant goes in under local anaesthetic in about an hour. Most people take a paracetamol that evening and nothing else.

  3. Heal

Three to four months for the bone to grow around it. A temporary fills the gap if it shows when you smile.

  4. Crown

A scanned ceramic crown is fixed on top, and the gap is gone.

Common questions

Is an implant better than a bridge?

Often, because it does not rely on cutting down the teeth beside the gap. But a bridge is quicker and cheaper, and sometimes it is the better choice. We price both so you can compare.

Am I too old for an implant?

Age matters less than the health of your bone and gums. The 3D X-ray at the consult answers the question for you specifically.
